ACODE Action Plan

The elements of ACODE's Action Plan have been derived from the ACODE Strategic Plan, strategic planning exercises with member feedback and the ACODE mission statement..

These are intended to maintain current operations and services, consolidate ACODE's position and introduce new activities. These activities will be conducted within the capacity of ACODE's financial and human resources.

ACODE's Action Plan seeks to deliver the following key strategies/goals of ACODE as identified in our mission.

Strategies and enabling activities:

Continue development of relationships with key bodies

  • Consolidate and expand interaction and collaboration with CAUL, CAUDIT and other affiliate organisations
  • Establish regular meetings with representatives from DEEWR and the Universities Australia
  • Investigate and evaluate the development of relationships with key NZ government and other education bodies
  • Establish relationships within the Office of the Federal Minister for Education
  • Establish regular meetings with representatives from the ALTC

Further develop effective communication strategies

  • Revise and update the ACODE website
  • Develop information for new ACODE members
  • Refine the process of   publicising nominated ACODE activities

Encourage establishment of Special Interest Groups and provide ongoing support

  • Develop protocols to support SIG operation and communication
  • Promotion of SIG opportunities.

Commission research as appropriate

  • Establish a budget allocation for research support
  • Identify ACODE research priorities
  • Establish mechanisms for the promotion and selection of research projects

Support research initiatives from members

  • Develop and promote a cycle of research support opportunities

Maintain regular workshop program

  • Conduct a regular needs analysis of the workshop program
  • Investigate the possibility of ACODE support for international visitors/specialists
  • Establish themes for all ACODE meetings at commencement of each year and publicise

Maintain interactive business meetings

  • Invite the participation of guest presenters on topics of current interest to members
  • Encourage the follow up of 'hot topics'

Initiate one major professional development activity per year

  • Investigate feasibility of distributed professional development for associated staff (e.g. an ACODE roadshow)

Expand professional development opportunities to address needs of staff of member institutions

Support at least one long term development project investigating an area of potential significance (blue skies/horizon project)

  • Establish ACODE commissioned project/s

Publicise outcomes of supported research and development projects

  • Refine ACODE communication mechanisms
