Membership
ACODE currently has 46 institutional members that include most Australian and all New Zealand universities as well as the University of the South Pacific.
Institutional Membership
Membership is open to universities in Australia, New Zealand and the south west Pacific region. Other educational providers in the region may be eligible for Affiliate status. Voting rights
Voting rights are vested only in financial Insitutional Members. Each institution, on payment of the membership fee, shall have one vote. The member designated to attend the meeting of the appointed alternative shall have the right to vote on behalf of his/her institution.
Representation
Institutional Members shall nominate a suitable representative, nominee and alternate representative.
Affiliate Membership
Affiliate Membership may be available to other higher education organisations in Australasia which are interested in open, distance and e-learning but which are not publicly funded universities. Affiliate Membership shall be granted to such organisations as may be determined from time to time by resolution of the Executive in response to applications from such organisations.
Representation
Affiliates shall be invited to nominate a suitable representative.
Voting Rights
Affiliates shall have no voting rights.
Fees
Affiliate Members shall be charged an annual fee for Affiliate Membership which is thirty (30) percent of the annual Institutional Membership fee.

Affiliate InstitutionsAssociated Organisations
Associate Membership may be granted to such other associations and service agencies in Australasia interested in open, distance and e-learning as may be determined from time to time by resolution of the Executive.
The granting of Associate Membership is subject to ACODE and the prospective Associate Member entering into a memorandum of understanding or similar agreement on terms to be negotiated by the Executive.

Associates shall be invited to nominate a suitable representative.
Voting Rights
Associates shall have no voting rights.
Fees
Associates Members shall not be charged an annual fee for Associates Membership.

In 2003 ACODE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) and the Council of Australian University Directors of Information Technology (CAUDIT).
